Frespace Insights

Editorial policy

How Frespace Editorial selects sources, explains uncertainty, and keeps practical food-management guidance responsible.

Purpose

Frespace Insights publishes plain-language explainers about household food management, food waste, storage, and the limits of what current research can establish. It is published by Frespace, a product of Xmanys.

How we choose sources

  • We prioritise peer-reviewed research, original study reports, and official guidance from public-health and food-safety authorities.
  • We link to the underlying paper or official source where possible, rather than relying on a secondary summary alone.
  • We identify a study's population, method, and major limits when they materially affect how its findings should be read.

How we describe evidence

We distinguish observed results from interpretation. A result from one population or intervention is not presented as a universal outcome, and a multi-part intervention is not attributed to one feature without direct evidence.

We do not claim that Frespace reduces food waste, prevents spoilage, or establishes food safety unless a claim is supported by evidence specific to that claim.

Food safety

Food-management information is not individual food-safety advice. When safety depends on food type, handling history, temperature, or a person's health circumstances, we point readers to authoritative guidance such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Updates and corrections

We update an article when its sources, interpretation, or practical guidance materially changes. The visible publication and update dates identify when a page was last reviewed. To report a factual error or request a correction, contact support@frespace.xmanys.com.
